So it is two weeks since we started to write the year as 2010. Two weeks that have gone by so quickly that it feels not much more than a blink of an eye.

Then, it is 10 years since everybody was terribly afraid about what would happen at the new years night of 2000, with all those horror stories about computer systems that would crash, elevators that would fall down the shaft, cars would refuse to stop when pressing the brakes, banks and ATM machines that refuse to give any monies to the account owners, just because that bug that could not handle the new millennium, 2000.

Well, as we all know, all of that fizzled out like a wet firecracker, and no elevators fell, no cars ran away by them self or refused to stop, nobody was refused money from their accounts, at least not due to the millennium bug. And that doesn't feel all that long ago either.

Now I read an article a few days ago, of a new, similar computer bug that will hit us in 2038. Gosh, the programmers that worked to take care of the year 2000 bug in programs where it even mattered, had a lot less time to do that, if the programmers can take care of fixing the 2038 bug, well then there is something seriously wrong. Besides, I don't expect to be around in 2038, so I just consider it being someone else's problem.

Anyhow, this year just started, and I wish everyone a continued good year.
