Erick my love

First let me say that part of my posts will come from actual facts, enhenced with fiction to preserve the innocents ;)
Erick is not the real name of my boy to start with.
When I moved here, I bought the house from a foreclosure coming from the bank. It was for sale over 2 years. It came with junk left over from the previous owner, stuff they never took out or didn't have time to take.
It was cheap, well below market price. The attics and the basement was full of boxes packed with just about anything, as if people died, were taken away and nobody ever bothered to clean. There was boxes of toys, kids clothing, old pots and pans, old furniture, rusted out tools, so much junk that I called a friend to help lug it all out of the house.
His suggestion was a garage sale, so, we worked two days to bring it all to the front lawn, and early on a saturday morning we speaded it all.
We had many lurkers, made about 3 bucks, after almost 3 hours, when came Erick, about 11yrs, short and small, looking his age at face value but not physically. He went through a box full of game bords, then is eyes lit, at an old bicycle, the kind with a bigger rear wheel, a banana seat and very high handle bars. That poor thing saw much better days, we lubricated the chain and managed to put air in the tires, no speed, no brakes but the pedal you go back to brake, just a plain ole bike.
I fell in love when he looked at me and asked for it. I asked him how much he was willing to pay for it. He replied " if you don't sell it, you'll put it in the garbage next monday. If you give it to me I'll be your friend"
Erick showed us why that bike was so odd, he made willies after willies with it, until the front tyre gave up.
Next monday morning, being summer and kids being out of school, Erick came to help to put most of what was left to the curb for the garbage truck to collect.
My helping friend was gone home to work and I told Erick we still had the garage to clean as soon as I'd get the keys
The surprises from the garage is for another post.
