In reply to I'd like to clarify some things. posted by Somersault on 2010-02-25 05:05:18, Thursday

I beleive my introduction was too short. Maybe people need to understand that the most part of my life was under a communist regime. When it changed to be capitalist, it became a nightmare, whoever owned something, anything, they became the dictator of whatever he owned.
I'll try to explain simply, before the after, nobody owned anything but the republic. Your house wasn't yours, your land wasn't yours, the republic lent you a tractor to work the field. The crop wasn't yours, every working man got paid a salary, to buy the necessities, the seller didn't own the profit, there wasn't any to start with.
Then came the after, farmers had to buy their land and their house, the butcher had to buy his shop, the animals from the farmers, butcher it and sell it to make a profit to pay the republic his shop and tools.
I aggree that here we call it taxes, income taxes, GST, PST ect, but it's nothing in comparision, back home people beleive they are paying for what they beleived was theirs from the beginning.
I moved to America a little more then 5 years ago, there was hardship, but I managed, I recently bought my own house, I have my own car, I work and pay for it all, I was surprised at my age to get a mortgage for 35years, Unless I become a guinness record, I'll be long dead before it's paid off.
From your reply to my e-mail and your post, it seems I offended you, if I did my appologies, it wasn't meant. It's very hard to chnge a way of thinking after you lived it for over 40 years just as much as it's hard for you to understand my uncertainty about how things work.
An e-mail friend introduced me to BC, my first posts were ignored and I was accused of being the devil. No I didn't quite give up, but I don't really want to express myself there, too many bullies it's like a gangwar.
My friend suggested The Lounge, he mentionned it was privately owned, that no name calling, no insults and disagreement had to be dealt very civilised, I gave it a try, my first posts were like walking on eggshells, sort of being warned about the dos and don'ts, but not being sure.
My friend mentionning privately owned didn't do me a great favor, not knowing what the meaning was for me and my previous culture, it meant to me a private circle, a membership area, and usually a membership has a cost.
I must say that I never said the site was a spy site, but you may had the impression I doubted it. It's not the case, as far as asking you if inviting a poster was acceptable, I beleived it was the honorable thing to do, it must be laughable for you because it's an expression my friend used that I took litterally, the place is not like BC, a free for all, someone explaimed the commun meaning as everybody does as they pleased and nobody pays attention, this was not my first understanding. It's not easy for a foreigner to get accustomed to a new culture.
My questions and insecurity came from a few misunderstanding and I can't blame you for reacting. What is clear in any culture is the fact that you took the time to explain, clearly shows you're a man of honour.
With respect
SB
