So I realized the bios update was a simple process for my computer. I downloaded the little .exe file from the manufacturer and ran it. Nothing changed. Slot number two might be dead, although last I tried it, the 2-gig stick seemed to be recognized. It doesn't recognize a half or a 1-gig stick anymore. So now I am back where I started. I used to have half a gig in each slot. Now I have one gig in one slot and possibly a dead slot 2 unless anyone knows what the problem is. Did I fry part of my motherboard? :( Any way to find out without ripping the entire computer apart? Sigh... woe is me.
