I do a defrag once a month, the one that came with Windows.

Is Smartdefrag better than the one in Windows?

Can I set it so that it too doesn't start up when I turn my computer on?

I run Avast once a week, luckily no virus' are in my machine, as well as Registry Mechanic, it does find some registries to be screwed up but it fixes them.

After downloading SpyBot S&D it too has an icon in my tool box tray, so I guess it too starts up when I turn my computer on.

My computer is running so slow that I can't tell if SB running in the background made it any slower.
