If there is one thing about computers I have never managed to figure out, it's the intricacies of character set encoding. My first reaction would be to say that you might need to install the required language support on Windows, but if it worked on Opera, that doesn't seem to make sense. You'll just have to poke around in the default encoding in FF to find it, I supposed. Sorry, but I have probably had even less success than you at doing this so I can't be of much help. I do know that to get proper Russian rendition in applications OTHER than browsers I had to install Cyrillic, which turns out to be a pain because if I select it I lose my French and other Western characters (and it requires a reboot to switch).
