It is possible that it started with your Windows Update. I have power management turned off so I don't have the problem but if my memory serves me, I believe Windows Update disables power management during the time it is updating. It is supposed to re-enable it when done. It is possible that this failed. I don't know if you have tried this but just as a test, go to your power management control and set it to some other setting, apply it, and then restore your new setting and apply it. It might correct your problem and if not, it will give us another data point in troubleshooting your problem. SNAFU |
